A bride and groom walk out through a shower of rice after their ceremony by the tarn

A wedding ceremony in nature

The moment you say “I do” is the one you will remember longest from the whole weekend – and the setting is yours to choose: by a still mountain tarn, or in the old farmyard with your guests gathered round you.

Time to toast! After the ceremony, everyone raises a glass to you at a champagne reception in the Huso farmyard.

Good to know

On the farm you can marry outdoors by the tarn or in the farmyard. If it rains, the ceremony moves indoors to the Banquet Hall, and from November to March it is held there. If you would rather marry in a church, Hemsedal Church and Gol Church are a short drive away.

To marry legally in Norway you need papers from the Norwegian Tax Administration (Skatteetaten) and an authorised officiant. Many international couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony at Huso – we are happy to recommend local officiants.
