A ski weekend for the whole team

Bring twelve to thirty people to a mountain farm 800 metres up, with the cottage yard to yourselves for the weekend. Groomed tracks start a hundred metres from the door and Hemsedal Ski Centre is a twenty-minute drive. Our chef cooks the meals you want cooked, and leaves you the ones you don’t.

Five reasons to bring the team here

The yard to yourselves

A mountain farm behind its skigard fence, 800 metres above sea level. For the weekend it is yours.

A chef when you want one

Booked meal by meal — not a package you have to take whole.

Tracks from the door

Groomed cross-country tracks begin a hundred metres from the houses.

17 km to the slopes

Hemsedal Ski Centre: 47 slopes, 22 lifts, three peaks. Twenty minutes by car.

Hot tub and sauna

Wood-fired, under an open sky, after a day on the mountain.

Braised meat with a dark glaze, purée and microgreens, plated and served at the table

Bring a chef, meal by meal

Nobody wants to spend Saturday in the kitchen, and nobody wants a hotel dining room either. There are two ways round it.

A chef in the cottage. Three courses cooked at your table: cured meats and pickled vegetables from the field, a 60-day dry-aged entrecôte grilled over open flame, and panna cotta with wild blueberries to finish.

Or dinner brought up. We cook at the farm and carry it to the cottage ready for the table — for the evening you would rather keep loose.

Either way, book it meal by meal: Friday dinner and Sunday brunch, Saturday to yourselves after a day out, or the whole weekend to us. And either way it starts in our own soil.

Let the huskies take Saturday

Six husky hounds and a sled, out through the forests and across the frozen lakes.

Of everything a team does up here, this is the one they are still talking about on the drive home.

A weekend, roughly

Friday — Arrive from mid-afternoon. Light the wood stoves, and dinner is on the table while the team settles in.

Saturday — Tracks from the door, or the twenty-minute drive to the slopes. Back for the hot tub and the sauna before dinner.

Sunday — A long brunch, then home down the valley.

Room for the one meeting

Most company trips have a single meeting in them. The cottages have long tables and wifi, which is enough for a morning session before people get out.

If you want a room of your own and days planned around the work rather than the skiing, that is our corporate retreat — same farm, more structure.

We had a work event at Huso Lodge and this is a perfect place to gather without external disturbances. Great for fellowship, activities, etc. Good follow-up before the event itself, quick responses and feedback. We were looked after throughout our stay. Good local food. Recommended.

I was here for a leadership retreat and this place had everything we needed. A big sauna, a modern and nice outdoor hot tub and they even made a hole in the ice on the lake bellow the cabin for some ice bathing.

We had a corporate get away event at Viking House in Huso Lodge in January 2022. We had around 18 guests who all had a great time.

The hot tub is wood fired – so of course can take some time to heat up but we managed this every night and we were provided plenty of wood to make this easy.

The venue itself is very spacious with plenty of room for a large crowd. The kitchen is great for preparing food and the dining room perfect for a banquet. The living space is large enough for a relaxed evening.

In particular i would like to say a big thanks to the staff at Huso lodge who went the extra mile to help us on several occasions. Whether it be preparing for outdoor games, helping us with extra amenities or towing us out of a ditch when our car got stuck on the way up to the cabin – they were always on hand to help and make sure we had a great time.

Thanks for everything. Easy five stars.

We were a group of 8 people who had the pleasure of staying at Kings Cottage for two days in connection with our annual professional seminar. The cottage was beautifully situated by the water in a scenic area, was pleasant and charming with all the necessary facilities and a fireplace that created a good atmosphere. We had meeting facilities in the Farmhouse, and the short walk from Kings Cottage to the Farmhouse (about 5 minutes) was just refreshing. We also had the opportunity to take advantage of the many hiking opportunities in the area. Sara and Steffen were enthusiastic, service-minded and flexible hosts who contributed to making this a very pleasant stay in every way!

We had the pleasure of staying at Huso Lodge in "Vikinghuset" for a weekend get-together with a group of colleagues. The house itself was incredible, with comfortable beds, a lovely dining area, large kitchen areas and a super cozy, spacious living room area with a fireplace and an amazing view of the lake. Bjørn and his co-hosts were more than helpful, making sure that we had the best stay possible. This included providing groceries on demand, heating the lovely outdoor hottub for us, and serving a wonderful three course menu with excellent local produce and harvest. The facilities combined with the warm care and attention from the hosts made this an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend visiting Huso lodge for an authentic Norwegian mountain experience with a hint of a blast from the Viking past, both from the unique architecture and Bjørn's storytelling.
