Fairytale mountain wedding in Hemsedal

We got married at Huso on July 3-5, 2026 and the weekend was everything we had dreamed of and more!

Bjørn and Danae have been easy to work with from start to finish. It is clear that a lot of time and resources have been invested in how to optimize the planning of a wedding, and we felt that we had a wedding planner included in the package. This meant that we as a couple had light shoulders throughout the entire planning process.

The wedding weekend was a fantastic experience, not only for us as a couple, but also for all the guests. Huso really offers something unique. The location is incredibly idyllic, the delicious mountain air, the green forests and the view of the mountains make you suddenly find peace.

The cabins make it possible to gather all the guests in one place, and contribute to a social and unifying experience. It was incredibly nice to see the guests across groups of friends and family enjoying themselves together in the hot tubs and saunas throughout the weekend.

The food is truly amazing and there is no doubt that locally sourced, quality ingredients are their passion. The guests, and we, were delighted with the food served throughout the weekend.

The hosts, led by Jose and Konstanse, deserve all the praise they can get! What an accommodating, professional and solution-oriented team! They understood our vision, adapted to our wishes and made our dream come true. They made sure that the whole weekend went as seamlessly as possible, so that we could enjoy both small and big moments together with our guests.

We had high expectations for the wedding weekend, but it turned out better than we could have ever imagined. From the bottom of our hearts, a huge thank you to Bjørn, Danae, Jose, Konstanse, the “chef” and the rest of the hosts who made this possible! We truly had our dream wedding!

We got married at Huso in May 2026 and had the wedding weekend of our lives. We were greeted in a fantastic way on the first tour and have felt safe throughout the planning and execution. Fantastic service and they did everything to give us the wedding celebration of our lives. The guests were very impressed with the premises, the cabins, hot tubs and food. An incredibly beautiful place to get married and we would highly recommend Huso. Here you can have a weekend in beautiful surroundings with different premises throughout the weekend that provide different atmospheres and great experiences. We celebrated our wedding here May 8-10, 2026.

The whole gang did everything they could to make sure that we and our family/friends had a magical time. The food was spectacular and the service was fantastic!

It was perfect to celebrate a wedding here for both adults and children and we will be happy to come back for the best memories in the world!

We had our wedding at Huso Lodge from 1st to 3rd May 2026, and we really couldn't have been happier! The whole experience exceeded all expectations from start to finish.

The area is absolutely beautiful; quiet, scenic and perfect for such an occasion. We really appreciated the incredibly beautiful and suitable premises that could be used for the different parts of the celebration. This gave a nice variety throughout the weekend (and especially on the wedding day itself) and contributed to how complete and special everything felt.

The day before the actual wedding weekend started (Thursday), we already got a taste of what to expect when we celebrated my father's 60th birthday in the Guildhallen with 25 guests. Here we were served fantastic food and wine in a stately venue, and the hosts really showed how far they go to customize the experience and make sure everything is exactly how you want it. The menu was of course adapted so as not to overlap with the wedding menu. The birthday celebration set the tone perfectly for the rest of the weekend.

One of the main reasons we chose Huso Lodge was the desire for a warm, social and holistic wedding weekend, where guests could relax, get to know each other and really enjoy their time together. This was fulfilled to a great extent. The entire arrangement makes for great socializing, whether in the cabins, out in the hot tubs or in the pleasant common areas. The atmosphere throughout the weekend was relaxed, inclusive and incredibly nice, and we experienced that our guests really had time and space to get to know each other.

The food deserves a special mention – it was simply fantastic! It all becomes extra unique when Huso takes such great pride in using home-grown and local ingredients. Every single serving was an experience in itself, and our guests talked a lot about how incredibly good the food was.

What really made our stay complete was the hosts. They are professional, warm and incredibly solution-oriented, and ensured that everything ran seamlessly throughout the weekend. They really go the extra mile to ensure that the celebration is exactly how you want it! We were able to relax and enjoy every moment, knowing that everything was in the best hands. In addition, we noticed how much the people who work here are passionate about what they do. You really get the feeling that everyone at Huso has a genuine desire to make the experience as good and memorable as possible.

The accommodation, the atmosphere and the overall atmosphere were top notch. This is a place that truly makes for magical moments and memories for a lifetime.

We highly recommend Huso Lodge to anyone who wants a very special setting for a wedding or other small or large occasion. We will be looking for "excuses" to come back as soon as possible, whether it's a birthday or New Year's celebration. Thank you so much for making our weekend unforgettable!

We got married at Huso Lodge March 12-15, and we couldn't have been happier! Danae, Jose and the team at Huso made the weekend absolutely fantastic! No matter what requests we had, they were solution-oriented and flexible, so that the weekend was exactly how we wanted it! All the guests have praised the place, all the venues and not least the food that was served! It was absolutely beautiful. The opportunity for everyone to stay together resulted in us having the cabin trip of a lifetime with all our friends and family, and with hot tubs and saunas there was a great atmosphere in all the cabins. The Dome as a venue made the wedding complete with a real party!

We can highly recommend Huso Lodge to everyone, whether it's for a wedding, a work event or just a cabin trip. The place must be experienced!

We chose to get married at Huso for three reasons; the surroundings, the facilities and the people we met up there. The team at Huso has been absolutely fantastic to work with leading up to the big celebration. We have felt so looked after throughout the entire process, and not least during the wedding weekend itself. The staff at Huso are welcoming, service-minded and solution-oriented. They really do everything they can to make the wedding exactly how the bride and groom want it. We have only received brilliant feedback from our guests and we could not be more pleased with how the wedding celebration turned out.

We got married at Huso on September 27, 2025, and it was the most beautiful setting for an autumn wedding! The wedding ceremony could be held outside by the pond and they had a back up in case it rained. The barn was magically beautiful, and the food we received so many comments that it was very, very good! We couldn't have dreamed of a better dream wedding than here!!

We had our wedding at Huso. It was a magical weekend. We couldn't be happier. It's the perfect place to have your dream wedding. The chef and the food are exceptionally good (several guests said it was the best they had ever eaten). The different areas and buildings make the place completely unique. The Viking Hall that sets the mood on Friday, the barn and party room that tops it off on Saturday, in addition to the beautiful area by the water for an outdoor wedding. The owners are very professional and nice who adapt and help with whatever is desired.

Arranging our wedding at Huso Lodge was without a doubt one of the best decisions we have ever made. We wanted not only a beautiful venue, but a setting that could accommodate both the grand and the intimate. There are not many places where you can invite 110 guests on the biggest cabin trip of your life and at the same time create a setting for a wedding by the water, partying late into the night and fellowship in all directions. But that is exactly what Huso gave us.

The entire weekend was characterized by calm, generosity and professional arrangements. We experienced genuine care from Konstanze and her team not only to make things “right”, but to make it ours. The wedding by the water was like something out of a fairy tale, and what started as a dream on paper turned into a weekend that we and our guests will talk about for the rest of our lives.

Simply put – The best day of our lives – was had at Huso Lodge.

We couldn’t have asked for a more magical and hospitable location for our wedding. And what a dream wedding it was!

There was a lot of planning and emails back and forth, but Huso Lodge facilitated it for us – always with a smile.

The cabins for us and our wedding guests were all really beautiful and diverse in style, with lots of charm – some old fashioned and cozy – others with a more modern touch, but still cozy!

The location around Huso is absolutely spectacular, especially the lake where we had our ceremony, surrounded by beautiful trees, and with a slightly snowy mountain peak in the background.

The outdoor hot tubs and saunas around the lake, is like an outdoor spa, perfect to combine with a refreshingly ice cold swim in the lake. And then you fire up the fireplace in your cabin in the evening. So cozy!

The Chieftains Hall was so atmospheric and old norse, providing a feeling of how the vikings must have had their feasts. The Barn was romantic and old fashioned, perfect for a wedding dinner. The Earth Dome was fun and had very easy to use audio and light system, and the Banquet Hall gave you the perfect rustique vibe for goodbyes to friends and family on Sunday.

The staff and owners were so helpful and warm, and helped us with everything we requested. They gave us the extra attention to detail so that you feel really appreciated and taken care of. And this care and attentiveness – is genuine! They all really want you to have the best time possible! It’s obvious to us that they are not doing this only as a business, but because they enjoy it, because they are good humans, and because they genuinely care.

Things we didn’t have time to do ourselves, like decorating the milk jars outside the Barn, they fixed for us, without any extra cost and on their own initiative. They (Konstanze) brought the brides maids bouquets to our ceremony location for us when we didn't have time to do it ourselves. They (Caspar) helped us decorate the Barn with drapes high up in the ceiling. They went above and beyond for us – to make it a memory for life – and give us the best start possible, for our lives together as husband and wife.

The food was absolutely delicious. From Friday to Sunday, the extra attention to detail came through and the lengthy, but entertaining stories from the chef himself were provided. Like the story of how they slaughtered a huge pig for our Friday dinner, that they were emotionally attached to.

Read my other reviews. I’m usually strict. I have nothing but positive things to say about Huso. Well, ok, maybe some minor things like one fireplace being out of order, and one sauna not fired up at the agreed time, but that’s more or less it. I even wish I could add something negative to add to the credibility of this review, but even that is hard to do!

Yes, it was expensive, but they were generous and fair with us. And very flexible.

We celebrated a fairy-tale mountain wedding at Huso Lodge in the beginning of May in bright sunshine and 20 degrees celsius together with family and friends. Thanks to the generous and warm hospitality of the Huso Lodge staff and owners, swift response, "can do attitude", and consistently "being the answer, not the problem", the entire weekend became unforgettable for us and our loved ones. The food was – and is – outstanding, the scenery and different venues remarkable – and to all you out there who has always dreamt of a "låvebryllup" / "barn-wedding" – Huso delivers the best. No exclamation point needed. We can easily say that celebrating our wedding at Huso has been the best weekend so far in our lives, and also the best way to celebrate our marriage together with all our loved ones. Unforgettable!

We had our wedding at Huso and we are, to say the least, incredibly satisfied! We had the Friday mingle, ceremony and party at Huso and had no need to leave the area!

Huso delivers premises out of the ordinary that really provide an adventurous experience! Cabins that have everything and are not like a standard cabin. An area that is absolutely fantastic and with saunas and hot tubs!

The service is absolutely fantastic and I don't think there is any other answer than "yes, we will fix that". For example, hooks were hung in the bathroom and in the hallway so that all guests could have a place!

The food that was served was absolutely exceptional! A grill buffet and a party menu with some of the best meat I have ever tasted! They were also incredibly flexible with the guests who had special requests. Everyone had a fantastic experience! For example, we had a guest who was fasting who was allowed to choose meat or fish long after dinner was served!

I would like to emphasize how satisfied I am and recommend everyone to have their celebration here! I really hope I get the chance to come back!

We are left with an overwhelming sense of gratitude after the fantastic experience guys at Huso created for us. It’s hard to find the right words to express how deeply thankful we are for everything they did to make our wedding weekend so beautiful and special.

Our guests are still talking about the weekend, the location and the amazing local food we were served both at the Friday welcome dinner in the Chieftains Hall and as the wedding dinner in the Banquet Hall. We would definitely recommend Huso Logde for anyone looking for a mountain wedding.

Simply magical!

We got married at Huso on September 13-15 and had a truly spectacular experience. It must be said that you can't always be lucky with the weather, but the bright sun and autumn colours contributed to an unforgettable affair. We were also lucky and got the northern lights on Friday night, which made it extra special.

Background:

120 people, Friday with a gathering in Chieftains hall, wedding on Saturday in Gol church, dinner in the barn, party in the dome!

Experience:

We found that Huso was very keen to play as a team with us and make it our special day. We were perhaps a bit creative in some of the things we wanted, but were met with positivity and a solution-oriented mindset. They were good at following up during the planning and throughout the weekend. We also found that the entire crew (everything from cleaning staff to kitchen, head waiters/waitresses, planners and owner) were available if we needed clarification or sparring during the weekend.

The entire lodge is beautifully located with a view of the valley, and the upper level is secluded, private and very cozy with the water next to the dome. In addition, it is a short distance inland into the mountains that people used to go for a run on Saturday morning.

Food and lodging:

Good breakfast buffet, wonderful barbecue on Friday night, and fantastic food for dinner on Saturday. Local ingredients and good flavors. We also received an incredible amount of nice feedback from the guests about the food. Stoves and saunas were heated for all the cabins both Friday and Saturday, which meant that all the guests could enjoy this.

Venues:

The barn that was used for dinner on Saturday gave a great, rustic impression and the dome was a brilliant party venue where we could stay on well into the late hours of the night.

All in all, an unforgettable weekend that will go down in our mental history books. We would highly recommend Huso!

We got married at Huso this summer and had a wonderful experience! Huso has made major upgrades to their facilities, and we were very pleased with the accommodations for our guests. We used all the cabins except for the "viking house". The "barn" that we used for dinner also provided a fantastic setting for the evening.

Huso also showcases Hallingdal at its best, which we greatly appreciate, and which we are happy to share with both locals and long-distance travelers.

All large events will have some challenges, but Bjørn and his team were very helpful and willing to find solutions.

We got married at Huso on June 22, 2024. It was the best weekend in the world and we couldn't be happier to have chosen Huso.

We had very good communication with Jana, Bjørn and Alexandra in advance, and they were very flexible and helpful with everything we asked for. They are very good and warm people, which made the experience very nice.

The area itself is absolutely magical, and the different cabins are so nice and cool. The saunas and steam rooms were used a lot, both evening and night. All 80 guests were very happy.

We had the wedding outside by the water, which was incredibly nice. The barn was a perfect place to have dinner, and the food (vegetarian tapas) was very good. And then the dome was very fun to have the party in.

It was a perfect weekend – I have nothing negative to say about Huso, and would really recommend everyone to get married here:)

What a place – and how much this place means to us now. We got married there in September 2023 – for a dream weekend we could not imagine we would make real. 120 overnight guests enjoyed the weekend as they moved from cabin to cabin, swimming, sunbathing, hiking in the mountains, canoeing and enjoying saunas and steam rooms. We invited to a barbecue in the chieftain's hall on Friday (we arranged it ourselves), a wedding in Hemsedal church on Saturday, followed by dinner in The Barn, served by Huso. Afterward, a torchlight procession up to The Dome, where the after-party kept going until late at night. Sunday morning we all met for Huso's Brunch in the Banquet Hall. We and all the guests had a fantastic weekend.

All dialogue with Huso was unproblematic. They went as far as they could to accommodate all our wishes. We were so happy with these people. The service they gave us while we were up there was fantastic, and the food they served us was both local and heavenly. It was especially gorgeous.

The cabins were absolutely top notch. Large, exciting, atmospheric and had everything you needed. The bride and groom and their immediate family stayed at Lakeview the week before the wedding. And we had such a great time the whole week. Swimming in the water, in the mud, the sauna, good dinners around the big table every day. Enjoying time together and alone, when the nerves needed to calm down.

They had hairy renovation goals they had to reach before our weekend. And even though it was hairy, and the entire Huso team worked like heroes, everything was finished on time and they delivered exactly as well as they promised.

Huso gave us a perfectly tailored wedding that is unlike any other – that was our wish all along. And with all the locations and opportunities they offer, we were able to include 6-7 different zones from the farm in our official program. In addition to absolutely all the cabins. We and all guests are left with a feeling of having been on the greatest cabin trip of our lives – where we could move freely in this small town of nature, activities and comfort. Highly recommended.

We celebrated our wedding at Huso Lodge in June 2022, and would recommend it!

The day before the wedding we had a barbecue in the Viking house, which was a great success. We could grill inside, and there was plenty of room for all the guests.

The party room itself was a fantastic place to celebrate a wedding, with plenty of room for many guests. We had 110 guests, which was a bit much, but it worked.

It was really nice to have accommodation options for a lot of people right next to the party room. The standard of the rooms varied, and some of the guests experienced no hot water in the shower, which we think is because the cabin had not been used for a while.

All in all, we were able to fulfill the wishes we had for our day, but the communication in advance was somewhat challenging, since everything was in English.

Huso Lodge is a very idyllic place to celebrate a wedding, and we are very satisfied.

We celebrated our wedding here in March with 75 guests. Beautiful place and nice host. Nice to be able to gather the guests for a weekend of accommodation and party in the same place. Varying standard of the rooms. The communication in advance was demanding, it was in English, was sometimes unclear and it took time before the contract was in place. But once things were clarified, the host was very accommodating and met our wishes in a good way. We and our guests had a fantastic weekend.

My husband and I had the great pleasure of getting married at Huso lodge this August, and what a fantastic time we had! At Huso we had everything in one place – beautiful spot for outdoor ceremony, dinner/party facilities and sleeping accommodation for all 80 guests. We had a viking themed dinner with whole roasted lamb and home brewed mead and beer in Chieftain's Hall on Friday, and prepared the Trolldom for dinner and party Saturday, with our own bar and DJ. Our guests described the event as "walking into a movie set" and "the most beautiful wedding ever". From what we heard the party kept going by the jacuzzi and sauna until early morning.

Our photographers were thrilled at the spectacular surroundings, and tell us the wedding photos will be among the best they ever took. In Gol and Hemsedal you can find everything you need, and we had great help from local suppliers of food, flowers, beauty etc.

Steffen and Sara at Huso Lodge were incredibly helpful and thoroughly committed to making our event special from the moment we met them. We were allowed to come early to set up and decorate, and they were always quick at responding to all our inquiries. We could not have been happier with their help to create our dream wedding!
