Huso Lodge is one of those rare places that manages to exceed every expectation.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here with over 30 friends from 13 different countries, and I honestly couldn't have imagined a better setting.

The lodge and cabins are beautiful, surrounded by stunning Norwegian nature, and perfectly balance rustic charm with comfort. The food was outstanding throughout our stay, and every meal felt thoughtfully prepared using high quality local ingredients. The service was warm, personal, and genuinely caring.

One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible amenities. The hot tubs and saunas quickly became the heart of the gathering, bringing people together after long hikes, creating the perfect space to relax, connect, and make lasting memories.

For many of our guests, this was their very first visit to Norway, and Huso gave them exactly the experience I had hoped for. They left talking about the mountains, the forests, the Viking House, the incredible hospitality, and how magical the entire stay had been.

Planning an event for such a large international group could easily have been stressful, but Danae and Bjørn were flexible, responsive, and an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish.

Whether you're planning a celebration, a company retreat, or simply looking for an unforgettable place to experience Norwegian nature, I cannot recommend Huso Lodge highly enough. We left with memories that will stay with us for a lifetime.

As a big family with 10 adults and two young children, Kings Cottage at Huso Lodge was perfect for us. Danae was very helpful in getting everything arranged before and during our stay. They were kind and went out of their way to help us find cross-country skis and extra equipment for the babies, which made a big difference for our trip.

They also took the time to show us how to use the sauna and the wilderness hot tub, which we really appreciated and enjoyed a lot.

We especially loved the beautiful nature surrounding the cabin, the cozy atmosphere, and how well equipped the cottage was. Having two dishwashers and multiple bathrooms made it incredibly comfortable and convenient for a large group like ours.

All in all, it was a perfect stay for our family, and we would definitely love to come back.

Since 2012, we have been spending our winter holidays in Norway every February, visiting various destinations and finding beautiful spots such as Trysil, Tyin, and Beitostølen. This year, our group of 21 people stayed at Huso for the first time with Danae and Björn as our hosts.

To put it simply – everything felt easy and right. The booking process, the communication, the on-site organization, and the genuine warmth of Danae and Björn captured our hearts immediately. There was nothing that couldn't be organized, even on short notice, and we felt cared for and looked after at all times.

We stayed in the Viking House and were more than satisfied. The kitchen was well-equipped and functional, and there were plenty of bathrooms and toilets. All of us found enough space across the 12 rooms, and the dining and living area was both cozy and practical.

The two hot tubs, the outdoor sauna including an ice hole for dipping, the 100m cross-country ski track right at our doorstep, and Björn’s delicious selection of Elg meat were just a few of the many highlights that made our time in Huso unforgettable. This means we will definitely be back—we have truly taken Huso, Danae, and Björn into our hearts. Thank you and see you soon – Dago 🙂

We had a fantastic stay at Kings cottage. Our host was a great help whenever we needed him. The cottage was big enough for our group (15 people) and our two dogs. The amenities where sufficient, the hot tub and the sauna a great extra! We all had a great stay over new years! Highly recommended place to stay! PS: good working cars and/or chains for the ride up the hill is extremely essential!

Altså om du noen gang skal noen plass så dra hit! Om du skal ha bryllup, selskap eller bare er en god gjeng venner/familie som vil dra en plass sammen så er Huso plassen. Fungerer både på sommer og vinter, med vedfyrt badstua og stamp, tjern, tur stier rett rundt hjørnet og en plass som føles som å være ett med naturen, er det en idyllisk plass å være bare en lang helg eller en hel uke. Anbefales på det sterkeste!

It is not often the word "hidden gem" is used to its fullest potential, but Huso Lodge certainly qualifies. Had the pleasure of staying at one of the bigger buildings with a large group of people and it felt truly like we had the place to ourselves. Highly recommended to anyone that is interested in a special accommodation that is is also as close to the natural beauty of the landscape as you can get.

What a fantastic location with great hosts! We stayed in this beautiful house with 25 people in age between 3 and 72! Excellent facilities, beautiful views in a quiet area.

There was plenty to do for everyone! Walking, skiing, sledding, swimming in an ice bath, relaxing in the hut tub and sauna, just too many to mention.

We enjoyed delicious leg of lamb prepared by the host, which we highly recommend! We really would love to come back here again 🙂

Wat een fantastisch huis op een fantastische locatie. We hebben hier met een grote groep van gebruik gemaakt van het huis, wat een mooie ervaring was. Op het terras genoten wij van de zon, terwijl we in de sneeuw zaten. Het met de rookoven bereidde lokale vlees was heerlijk, en is echt een aanrader! Ik ben benieuwd hoe mooi de plek is in de zomer 🙂

Eind april hebben we hier met de hele familie genoten van een heerlijke tijd samen, grappig huis en ruim opgezet. Veel slaapkamers en genoeg ruimtes waar je kan zitten zowel binnen als buiten. Na de sauna afkoelen in het wak in het bevroren meer gaf het verblijf een extra leuke ervaring. Ook in de omgeving is er genoeg te beleven.

Vi var en gruppe på 15 gutter som dro på skitur og leide oss inn på Stable House. Lokalene var fantastiske med en hyggelig stue, et romslig spisebord som kunne romme oss alle, og et kjøkken som var både praktisk og effektivt, noe som virkelig gjorde oppholdet hyggelig. Vi koste oss også med den vedfyrte badstuen som var tilgjengelig utenfor hytta, og det var rikelig med plass til å parkere bilene våre rundt hytta. Alt i alt var det en flott opplevelse, og vi ser frem til å komme tilbake.

We stayed at the "King's Cottage" at Huso LODGE for a week during a club trip. Everything went well. The kitchen has been designed to cook for 20 people (but not to be used by 20people at the same time), house was decorated with new and clean furniture, comfortable beds and good bathrooms. I would add a few more shelves and closets for the guests to store clothes and other items in the rooms but that wasn't a major. hold up. Recommended!

Veldig fin hytte med plass til mange. Stor stue/kjøkken med stort spisebord, to oppvask maskiner og to stekeovner.

Soverommene var litt ulikt konfigurert, noen hadde eget bad, andre bare en vask og noen uten noenting. Rommene hadde ingen skuffer/skap til oppbevaring. Et felles bad og tre dusjer.

Jeg ELSKET dette stedet!! En unik opplevelse tett på naturen som gir de perfekte rammene hvis man er mange på tur. Om sommeren kan du padle kano, ta badstue, bade og kose deg i stampen (Det gjorde vi!) Kjøkkenet har alt du trenger for å kokkelere (sosialt med øy) og soverommene er enkle, men med behagelige senger. Anbefales!! 10/10!!

Wow, I had an amazing time at Kings with my family and friends. We brought three families together to stay together for a weekend in the woods. The wood-fired saunas and hot tubs were insanely awesome. Super easy to heat up. The smell of the wood so refreshing. Jumping in the cold lake next to it and then back in the sauna just gave my body, mind and soul so much joy. The fish-eye lens is pretty epic too. You feel submerged in the wild wilderness. Hard to explain, but sooo cool. Inside too, was super inviting, comfy and warm. The kitchen is huge and freshly renovated. All the things we needed to make amazing fresh meals was there, plus some really cool coffee gadgets I want to explore more. Who knew making coffee could be such a creative and empowering experience! The fireplace in the kitchen was a total winner, plus another one in lounge, just made hanging out with others super cozy and fun. The bedrooms are refreshing and spacious too. Lots of space of spread out. Just a really awesome place. Can't wait to come back with more family and friends from the US. Places like this makes Norway special.

Hei og takk for oss. Vi, en familie på 14 med stort og smått har hatt en fantastisk Pinsehelg på Kings Cottage. Herlig plass så nærme naturen og med alle nødvendige hjelpemidler og fasiliteter. Uproblematisk med så god dekning av toaletter og bad. Jacuzzi og Sauna ble flittig brukt. Vi syklet, gikk turer, spilte "Kubb" og fikk prøvd oss på hesteryggen. Supert kjøkken med god kapasitet, doble ovner og dobbel oppvaskmaskin.

We had one of the best weekends of our lives here. The hosts were super helpful and accommodating. The facilities were excellent! We had so much fun with the wood fired jacuzzi, the beautiful sauna and ice bathing in the lake in the hole that Robin made for us. Highly recommended to everyone traveling with a large group that are looking to have a good time!

What a fantastic week in the most beautiful winter snow landscape. We, 4 families with a total of 17 people, had a great week around New Year's Eve at King's Cottage. The house has everything it takes for a great vacation. Large new kitchen, cozy rooms, sauna, hot tube and the cross country ski trail right outside the door. Our hosts were always responsive to all our questions and always had great tips for us. We will definitely come back again.

For what the price is there were some small stuff which had large issues.

The wood hot tub for example was constantly leaking and when we went into it, was below room temperature. Perhaps that was due to us, I do not know, but it took long time to heat up (which was expected) but was not a hot tub.

The fireplace was only used once as it filled the entire living room with smoke and we are unsure why. Most of us could not sit in one of the three living rooms that was there.

Besides those two issues, it was a great week stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, there was enough space for everyone and the walls were very nice. Kitchen is a bit small though, but it makes up for it with its cold room.

Lastly, there is a giant lake to use and canoeing is available for free. Its so lovely to sit and be outside.
